Prince Charles Makes Historic Visit to InspireHealth
On November 7th, we were honoured to welcome His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to the offices of InspireHealth.
December 2, 2009 - Amidst much fanfare and following months of planning, InspireHealth physicians had the opportunity to have an intimate conversation with Prince Charles and a number of our patients about some of the important issues of health and healing.
We had the privilege of experiencing first hand, Prince Charles’ passion on the subject of wellness, sustainability and integrative health, and his commitment to making a difference, notably through his charity in the UK, the Prince’s Foundation for Integrated Health.
"Meeting Prince Charles was a great experience for all those involved, and an opportunity to share with him our ideas and plans about integrated cancer care," states Dr. Hal Gunn, CEO and Co-founder of InspireHealth. "He is a powerful advocate for integrative health, and bringing wisdom back into medicine and the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss with him the future of integrative health and the importance of incorporating the values of healing into our system of health care."
Prince Charles extended an invitation for InspireHealth to collaborate with The Prince’s Foundation for Integrative Health. The Foundation promotes the bridging together of healthy lifestyle choices (nutritious food, meaningful work, access to nature, exercise) with conventional treatments to create an environment that promotes well-being.
The historic Royal Visit shone an international spotlight on InspireHealth and validated the important pioneering work we are doing in the field of integrative cancer care here in Canada. As a team, we are grateful that our work is inspiring and inviting global interest.
