InspireHealth Supportive Cancer Care Centre Coming to Kamloops

A $1 million donation by Anthony Salituro and the Pink Ribbon Charity Ball to the RIH Foundation will enable Kamloops cancer patients and their families to receive free support for their physical and mental health.
KAMLOOPS, BC, September 10, 2025 – InspireHealth Supportive Cancer Care, a non-profit organization, is pleased to announce it will open a Kamloops location to provide cancer patients and their loved ones with free programs and services to support their physical and mental health. The clinic is the result of collaboration between InspireHealth, the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation (RIHF) and Kamloops Cancer Supportive Care Society (KCSCS) and their joint commitment to bring much needed supportive cancer care to residents in Kamloops and the surrounding area. The InspireHealth Centre is made possible through a generous $1 million donation by Anthony Salituro and the Pink Ribbon Charity Ball committee to the RIH Foundation along with additional funding from RIHF. The Centre is expected to open in Kamloops Square, 243 Seymour Street, later this year.
“All patients affected by cancer deserve free, comprehensive, and easily accessible programs and services that improve their quality of life, health and well-being,” says InspireHealth CEO, Loveena Chera. “We have been working closely with our partners in Kamloops for several years to make this vision a reality and are incredibly excited to open our Kamloops location in the coming months.”
InspireHealth is the only community-based organization in the province that provides comprehensive programs and services to support the physical and mental health of patients with any type and stage of cancer, right from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. All services are free to patients and their families, and no physician referral is required.
“The programs and services provided by InspireHealth are life-changing for cancer patients and their families,” says Anthony Salituro, Founder of the Pink Ribbon Charity Ball. “Residents in Kamloops will now have a place to go for compassionate whole-person care to support their mind and body during an incredibly challenging time. We are thrilled to support this initiative.”
The InspireHealth Centre will provide both one-on-one consultations and group programming, including the highly regarded 2-Day LIFE Program, to support patients through their cancer journey. Programs and services will be provided by a supportive care physician, counsellor, dietitian, and exercise therapist along with virtual support through a network of InspireHealth clinicians located throughout the province.
“Bringing InspireHealth to Kamloops is something the RIH Foundation is very proud of,” says Heidi Coleman, RIHF CEO. “We are thrilled that oncology patients can now access InspireHealth’s invaluable services in person. This is a wonderful step forward for our community.”
Research shows that exercise & nutrition therapy, counselling and a community of support, improve quality of life and cancer outcomes for patients. “Supportive cancer care helps manage symptoms, reduce treatment side effects, and address emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs throughout the cancer journey,” says Dr. Meghan MacDonald from the Kamloops Cancer Clinic. “I am beyond excited that an InspireHealth Centre is coming to Kamloops to support our patients, families, and healthcare providers.”
This will be InspireHealth’s fourth physical location in BC, with other Centres in Vancouver, Victoria and Kelowna. The new location supports InspireHealth’s mission of removing financial and geographic barriers to make supportive cancer care accessible for all British Columbians, especially those in underserved communities. The organization will continue to work with local stakeholders and community groups to ensure relevant and timely programming for patients and their loved ones.
“We have been collaborating with a wide network of community partners and advocating for urgently needed cancer supportive care services for several years,” says Leslie Brochu, Chair of KCSCS. “This InspireHealth clinic is a sterling example of what is possible when a community comes together for the benefit of others. We are so proud to be part of this great opportunity to help improve outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients.”

About Royal Inland Hospital Foundation (RIH)
The RIH Foundation is non-profit charitable organization committed to supporting Royal Inland Hospital and our community’s healthcare needs both now and into the future. Working in collaboration with the Kamloops Cancer Supportive Care Society (KCSCS), we recognize the gap in cancer supportive care services for Kamloops and the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap area cancer patients. We support KCSCS in advocating for increased access to Cancer Supportive Care services to help adults affected by cancer receive supportive services to help manage their physical, mental, and emotional health as well as their financial, legal and workplace challenges.
About Kamloops Cancer Supportive Care Society (KCSCS)
The KCSCS is a non-profit society advocating for patient navigation and increased cancer supportive care services to help adults affected by cancer receive supportive services to help manage their physical, mental, and emotional health as well as their financial, legal and workplace challenges. KCSCS’s ultimate goal is a comprehensive supportive care center in Kamloops. KCSCS seeks out gaps in services and resources and is striving to develop ways to fill the gaps. Evidence shows better and easier access to cancer supportive care services and information improves patient outcomes. This drives the work of the KCSCS.
