Vanessa’s InspireHealth Story
“In the summer of 2021, after a routine mammogram, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear: “you have cancer.” As a mom and busy trial lawyer, I suddenly had to navigate a new reality of surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and now ongoing hormonal therapy. The toll was immense— physically, emotionally, and mentally. I often struggled to recognize the person looking back at me in the mirror, grieving the life I once knew and facing constant fear of the unknown.
At my lowest point, a colleague encouraged me to connect with InspireHealth. From my very first counselling session, I felt heard, understood, and supported. With the help of my counsellor, I found my inner strength again and began to regain a sense of control. Over time, I benefited from the care of InspireHealth’s entire team of exercise therapists, dietitians, counsellors and supportive care physicians. I also benefited from the LIFE Program, which gave me the tools to rebuild, to cope, and to carry forward.
Today, InspireHealth has become so much more than a source of support, it is a community, a family. I am proud to now volunteer with InspireHealth, paying forward the compassion and care I received.
InspireHealth has given me more than just tools—it has given me hope, strength, and a community to lean on. I am forever grateful for the role they continue to play in my life.”
