Proposed Directors for 2025/2026

Anthony Salituro – 3 years

Anthony Salituro has owned and operated a successful men’s and ladies clothing store in Kamloops for over 20 years—an iconic Kamloops business that first opened its doors in 1944. Guiding this legacy brand through decades of change has been a fulfilling journey, one that has allowed him to be creative and love going to work each day.

His commitment to giving back began in 1998 when he founded the Pink Ribbon Charity Ball in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. What started as a small gathering of 145 guests grew into Kamloops’ premier fundraising gala. After a brief retirement from event planning, he returned to philanthropy with a bold goal: to raise $1 million to improve cancer care in the Kamloops region – and that milestone was met.  In 2024, after thoughtful consideration, the decision was made to donate the full amount to InspireHealth with the intention of helping bring its services to Kamloops.

Born and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia, he lives there with his husband and their two young children. He has strong ties to the local Italian community and cherishes many of the traditions passed down from his parents, who both immigrated from Italy to Canada. Family, food, and culture play a central role in his life and continue to shape how he shows up in his community.

Anthony is excited to be part of this next chapter and to contribute meaningfully to the work of the InspireHealth Board.

Dr. Shannon McDonald – 3 years

Dr. Shannon McDonald, recently retired from the position of Chief Medical Officer at the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) in BC, is proudly Métis/Anishinaabe with deep roots in the Red River Valley of Manitoba. Dr. McDonald is a physician with post-graduate medical training in Community Medicine and Psychiatry and worked for over 25 years in the area of Indigenous health, with broad experience at multiple levels of health care service delivery and health administration in both provincial and federal contexts. Before joining the FNHA, she served for five years as the Executive Director of Aboriginal Health at the BC Ministry of Health.

Dr. McDonald is a visionary, result-oriented influencer with significant accomplishments in leading transformative change, including implementation of information and communications technologies and the creation of collaborative health systems. She was awarded BC’s Physician Champions of Change award by the Doctors of BC for her leadership and advocacy for physician services in BC’s rural and remote First Nations communities. She has also been recognized for effectively representing the needs and interests of Indigenous individuals, families and communities in highly complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-jurisdictional environments. Deeply committed to the principles of supporting capacity and community development as keys to improving health status among all people, Dr. McDonald recognizes and supports the strengths and aspirations of community-level stakeholders.

She is married with five children, three wonderful grandchildren, and three dogs. She lives near Victoria with her husband.
