NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The InspireHealth Annual General Meeting of the members of:

INSPIREHEALTH SOCIETY (the “Society”)

Will be held on: Thursday September 19th 2024 from  6:30 – 8:00 PM
The Annual General Meeting 2024 will be held virtually in accordance with our bylaws.

  3. Approval of audited financial statements for fiscal year ended Mar 31, 2024

Eduarda (Eddie) McWhirter – 3 years

Eduarda (Eddie) McWhirter, CPA, CGA, CFE has been an accountant for over 30 years with diverse experience in public and private companies. Eddie’s most recent role as an Executive Senior Leader instilled her with a passion to drive sustained strategic change in dynamic environments, and she’s established a proven track record for planning, implementing, and managing strategic plans and initiatives. Eddie considers herself a visionary leader that gets results through collaboration, coaching and hard work.

Giving back to the community is something Eddie has done for most of her adult life in varying capacities; helping others is her passion. Until recently, volunteer work complemented her demanding corporate role; however in 2020, Eddie transitioned to solely focus on volunteering with non-profit boards in the Vancouver area. She serves as Treasurer on multiple boards including Quest Outreach Society, Mom2Mom Poverty Initiative and Compassionate Eye Foundation. In addition to supporting the non-profit sector, Eddie mentors CPA students working on their accounting designation.

Stuart Peacock – 3 years

Dr. Stuart Peacock is Professor and Leslie Diamond Chair in Cancer Survivorship in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. He is Co-Director of the Canadian Centre for Applied Research in Cancer Control (ARCC), Head of the Department of Cancer Control Research at BC Cancer, and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Before moving to Vancouver in 2005, Stuart held positions at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and the University of York, United Kingdom.

Stuart has over 25 years of experience in quality of life research, public and patient engagement, and priority setting in health and public policy. His research interests include developing more effective cancer services, making health system funding decisions more fair and transparent, and improving the quality of life of cancer patients and survivors. Stuart has acted as a consultant on priority-setting methods for the World Health Organization as well as for governments in the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe.

Proposed Directors for 2024 / 2025

Vanessa Gauthier – 3 years

Vanessa has practiced law in Newfoundland Australia and Canada.  She is a partner at Lindsay LLP and currently practices insurance litigation focusing on negotiating and resolving disputes related to motor vehicle accidents, personal injuries, occupier’s liability and products liability.  Having been legal counsel for the Workplace Health Safety & Compensation Commission in Newfoundland and Labrador and represented self-insured employers, she has gained invaluable experience in risk management and claims involving workplace accidents, particularly in the mining, transportation, manufacturing and retail sectors.

She invests a lot of time in mentoring junior lawyers both inside and outside the office and is a key resource to her firm regarding human resources matters.  Majority of her career focused on working with Foundations and Non-Profit Executive Teams and Boards, building relationships for success .  Driving new innovative revenue sources, driving business development on a global level, and transforming brand and image, all while managing risk within a strong governance structure and strengthening stakeholder
