Vanessa Gauthier

Vanessa is a lawyer and has practiced law for almost 30 years in Canada and Australia.  She is a partner at Lindsay LLP and currently practices insurance litigation focusing on negotiating and resolving disputes related to motor vehicle accidents, personal injuries, occupier’s liability, and products liability.  Having been legal counsel for the Workplace Health Safety & Compensation Commission in Newfoundland and Labrador, she has gained invaluable experience in governance, policy development, risk management and claims involving workplace accidents, particularly in the mining, transportation, manufacturing, and retail sectors.  She has been the Chair of the CLE BC Insurance Law Conference and has presented at various legal and insurance industry seminars and conferences.

 

She invests a lot of time in mentoring junior lawyers both inside and outside the office and is a key resource to her firm regarding human resources matters, strategic planning, marketing and business development.  Throughout her career, she has worked with various Executive Committees and Boards, building relationships for success. Vanessa has served on the Executive Board of the CBA British Columbia-Women Lawyer’s Forum, which offers programs and networking opportunities to support women lawyers and the gala committee of the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade. She has been on the Risk Management Counsel of Canada Board for over 10 years and recently President – a national association of independent law firms providing legal services to the insurance industry.

 

She is passionate about InspireHealth as she has navigated her own cancer journey as a client, is a member of the gala committee, interested in expanding relationships on behalf of the organization and recently spoke on behalf of the organization at a reception at Government House in Victoria.
