Exercise Therapist, Clinical Exercise Physiologist
Matthew completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology at Camosun College in 2022, where he focused on clinical exercise physiology and chronic disease management. He is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology and a practicing Kinesiologist through British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists. He has advanced training in cardio respiratory rehabilitation, metabolic disease management, ECG/hemodynamic monitoring, and is furthering his cancer-specific exercise education by taking a Thrive Health course by Dr. Culos-Reed and Dr. Capozzi.
Before joining InspireHealth, Matthew led as a provider for Oak Bay’s Take Heart & Breathe Well cardio respiratory rehabilitation program, supporting patients with complex cardiac, pulmonary, and metabolic conditions. In this role, he supervised practicum students, collaborated within interdisciplinary teams, and guided patients recovering from cardiac events, COPD, and other chronic diseases. Matthew’s clinical interests center on helping individuals restore function, build confidence, and navigate health challenges through evidence-based movement and patient education. He is honoured to join InspireHealth and is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred cancer care.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys reading sci-fi books, strength training, hiking/camping, photography, connecting with friends and family, and most importantly spending time with animals.
