Michael McKinnon
Exercise Therapist, Clinical Exercise Physiologist
Michael joined the InspireHealth team in May 2023. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary in 2017 and 2021, respectively. He has also furthered his cancer specific education by taking the EX-MED Cancer course by Dr. Prue Cormie.
During his studies at the University of Calgary, specifically his graduate education, Michael’s interest shifted from the world of high-performance sport to the clinical side of exercise physiology. In his past roles, Michael has had the pleasure of volunteering with fitness and rehabilitation programs for people with physical disabilities and other chronic conditions, coaching soccer with Special Olympics, and supporting patients on hemodialysis and living with kidney disease. Michael is honored to have joined InspireHealth and is excited to deliver exceptional patient-centered, cancer care, focused on optimizing quality of life and overall well-being, while working alongside amazing and dedicated healthcare professionals.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending his free time working out, running the seawall, hiking and/or camping in the mountains, playing sports, performing hot (sauna) and cold (ice baths, cold plunges, etc.) stress techniques, reading (non-fiction), playing the piano, and connecting with family and friends.
